RESIDENTS of Morton Avenue, March were among those living in sheltered housing schemes in Fenland to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee with a traditional street party.

Roddons Housing Association, part of Circle Housing Group, which runs the schemes has been promoting parties as part of their getting to know you policy for residents.

And on Tuesday people living in Morton Avenue enjoyed their party at the Morton Court Community Hall.

Residents helped by contributing food, drinks and decorations to help make the event a success.

Culmination of the individual parties will be today’s (Wednesday) gathering at Wisbech St Mary for residents from over 100 sheltered schemes.

All Roddons sheltered residents are invited to today’s shindig, and those who want to attend are being transported to Wisbech St Mary Community Centre to enjoy traditional party food and entertainment.

Underneath the bunting residents will take part in a Jubilee-themed quiz. They can also enjoy a collection of old photographs taken by local historical photographer Lillian Ream.
