Staff at Orchard House Care Home for Nursing in Wisbech said a fond farewell to activities organiser Pat Bailey who has retired again after ten years at the Money Bank Home.
Pat (74) who lives at Tydd St Mary originally retired ten years ago but she was asked by the manager to help out the home - where she then stayed for ten years.
Pat, who is looking forward to spending more time with her husband Terry, has helped organise entertainment and events at the home, taken part in fundraising and helped to man the home’s stall at the annual Rose Fair.
To mark her retirement, she was taken for lunch by her boss who is also her sister, Irene Carter, then returned to work to find it decked with flags, balloons and food and Wisbech Town beadle Alister Hopkins announced her entrance.
Pat received a number of gifts including vouchers, a handbag, inscribed vase, a clock and a coffee table.
Senior diversional therapist Irene said Pat’s retirement will leave a void to be filled. She said Pat has a fantastic memory, particularly for the names of residents and their family members.
