STAFF at the Co-operative Travel in Wisbech got on their bikes to raise cash for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Colleagues cycled on an exercise bike all day to “travel” the 90km between Wisbech and Norwich Airport, where the air ambulance is situated.

Harriet Secker, from Co-op Travel, said they had been trying to grab Beales staff members on their tea breaks to help them out with the fundraiser and were determined to make the distance, even if it meant staying late.

They also sold cakes for a donation to add to the cash pot.

However, there was a disappointing number of people who came into the store to support them.

Harriet put it down to the weather, as everyone was out enjoying the sunshine, and said if it had perhaps been cooler, they might have raised a bit more.

The event raised £40 for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
