The winners of a Wisbech photographic competition have been presented with their prizes.

The ‘What I Like About Wisbech’ competition was organised by the Wisbech Society and run in conjunction with the town’s Curry’s PC World store.

The open, working country found just five minutes from the centre of town: hot, hard bramble pulling in the willow fields.

The under 18 winner was six-year-old Thomas McGuire with his photo of one of the wood carvings in Wisbech Park. The adult winner was Nick Williams, who took a picture of people bramble pulling in the willow fields just outside the town centre.

They were both presented with a HP Slate tablet and a one-year subscription to a 50GB Knowhow Cloud Storage facility by Curry’s PC World store manager Neil Winter.

Wisbech Society chairman Ray Johnson said: “It is interesting that the senior prize entry reminds us that Wisbech is not just founded upon its architectural heritage. Travelling just five minutes from the centre of town in any direction takes us into our natural and agricultural heritage.”
