Outwell Gala has been hailed a huge success once again after villagers and visitors alike came together for a whole weekend of family fun.
Hundreds of people turned out to enjoy the fourth annual gala on Saturday and Sunday, with a host of attractions being laid on for all ages.
The event, organised by the Outwell Village Hall and Playing Field Committee, kicked off on Saturday with a raft race from the Crown Lodge Hotel to the Crown Pub.
Crowds cheered on three junior rafts and two adult rafts down the river, with all vessels making it across the finish line in more or less one piece!
The winning junior team was The Basket Boat, and Uptown Monk was crowned the winning adult team.
The sunny weather then helped to ensure a well-attended barbecue at the Basin.
Rain dampened play a little for a funday at the Playing Field on Sunday, with fewer visitors than previous years, but those who did turn out still enjoyed a host of stalls and fairground rides.
There were also It’s A Knockout competitions, with The Maniacs winning the junior contest, and Sweet Dreamers winning the adults.
The weekend was rounded off with a sell-out family party at the Village Hall.
Paul Smith, the committee’s events co-ordinator, thanked volunteer helpers and visitors for making the event a “great success”.
He also thanked RG Golding and Son for the loan of equipment for the weekend.
