FACED with government demands for big savings, Fenland District Council has launched a major consultation aimed at finding out what residents think should be its top spending priorities.
The severe cuts being imposed on local authorities mean that it is having to make some tough decisions about where to focus resources. The council has produced a questionnaire which is available in the four Fenland @ your service shops, the three leisure centres and online at www.fenland.gov.uk/yourviews
All responses must be returned by February 1. The questionnaire lists 13 options and asks people to rank them in order of importance.
The options cover a range of services, including street cleaning, assistance for local businesses and the provision of CCTV cameras in community locations. It also provides space for residents to add any further comments.
