A range of health and fitness programmes are on offer at Fenland District Council’s leisure centres in March, Wisbech, Whittlesey and Chatteris.

They include:

n Exercise Referral Scheme: 12-week programme aimed at people with a range of medical conditions. Includes off peak gym sessions, fitness classes, swimming and health suite use. Referrals needed from health professionals.

n Aquafit : Great low impact workout, suitable for all fitness levels. Eight classes per week across March, Wisbech and Whittlesey.

n Healthy hearts: Gentle to moderate pace designed to improve heart health and general well-being. Aimed at cardiac rehabilitation but anyone can join. Weekly at March, Wisbech and Whittlesey.

n Yoga and Pilates: Classes to increase strength and balance and improve posture and coordination. A total of seven yoga classes per week (March and Wisbech) and three Pilates classes per week (Wisbech and Whittlesey).

n Health walks: Held each week in March, Wisbech and Whittlesey. Organised by Mytime Active

And starting in February, 2014…

n Get Lean: New, 10-week programme for weight loss. Includes tailored gym workouts, fitness classes, nutrition seminars and weekly motivation sessions at all centres.
