TWO March postmen are busy planning their second fundraising walk later this summer.
Nick Winterton and Tony Cliss are hoping this year’s planned endeavour will at least equal the success of their venture last year which saw the pair walk the North Norfolk coastal path and raise £2,000 for Barnado’s.
On Saturday June 18 the daring duo will set out for a two -day walk a stretch of Hadrian’s Wall in a bid to raise cash for Great Ormond Street Hospital.
They hope to raise at least £900 for the cause and are asking for sponsorship.
Nick explained: “People ask us all the time if we are doing another walk and after the warmth and generosity shown by everybody last year, we both felt it was something we had to do.
“This year we have decided to help Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital which currently needs £50 million every year to rebuild and refurbish the site to keep it the world class pioneering institution it is today.
“Any money we raise will help them replace cramped outdated wards with new facilities where parents can sleep alongside their child and for children to have more space to get well.
“We know it’s not the best financial time for people to be giving at the moment but hopefully people, especially parents like ourselves can appreciate the fantastic work they do on a daily basis and back us because even the smallest amount can make a huge difference.”
