A small fleet of new vehicles clad in Fenland District Council’s purple livery are now on the streets.

The council’s new grounds maintenance contractor ISS Facility Services is now setting about looking after all Fenland’s open spaces.

The firm took over the contract from The Landscape Group at the beginning of November.

Cllr Peter Murphy, the council’s cabinet member for environment, said: “The handover has gone very smoothly. November is a relatively quiet time for horticulture, but the ISS team has already settled in well and is getting to grips with all its various tasks.”

Marc Pykett, ISS’s area operations manager, said: “It is a pleasure to be working in Fenland. This is an important contract for us and we are committed to doing a great job keeping Fenland’s open spaces looking special throughout the year.”
