THE cafe at Skylark Country Store and Garden Centre in Manea Road, Wimblington, has been extended and is being officially re-opened on Good Friday at 10am as part of an Easter Open Weekend.
Extra seating, extended patio area and double-sized kitchen forms part of the re-vamped cafe.
The added space will also allow more local artists and photographers to display their work as they already do through Skylark’s link with Fenland Arts Association.
Once the café is opened on Good Friday there will be free bacon rolls to the first 50 customers through the café doors. Easter Monday sees fun for the children with an egg hunt, face painting and appearance from Peppa Pig.
The Fens Adventurers Rural Development Programme part funded the Café Skylark expansion.
Mike Carter, the programme manager said: “Café Skylark has a proven track record of offering good food and value for money as a complement to the garden centre.
“The Local Action Group have been pleased to support the investment with a grant of over £50,000 to help double the space available for diners and to ensure larger parties visiting the area can be catered for.”
