Childhood memories were brought back to life at this year’s Walsoken Flower Festival.

There were plenty of imaginative flower arrangements on the theme of ‘Childhood’ for visitors to admire, and they came out in their droves over the weekend.

Trevor Dyke, from All Saints Church, said it was one of their best festivals, with the plant stall taking £150 on Saturday alone.

An illustrated talk by Andrew Ingram on Saturday night, titled ‘On the streets where you lived’ attracted more people than ever before. There was considerable interest in the historical photographs of Walsoken and Wisbech.

Wisbech Mayor Samantha Hoy also attended on Saturday and spent time looking around the church.

The flower festival runs until Wednesday so there is still time to go and have a look at the displays if you have not done so far.

A village hog roast is also being held at the church on Friday and there are a few tickets left. Tickets £7 with all proceeds going to the church. A spot auction will take place at the same time, with lots of items up for grabs. Call 01945-587952 to book tickets.
