Upwell Playing Field Committee held their first Horse and Pony Show with Gymkhana recently and it was very successful.

The weather was very favourable, which ensured a good turnout with entrants travelling to the show from a radius of 25 miles.

The judging was carried out by John Wortley, stewards Liz Thorpe and Leanne Nicholls. The results are as follows:

RIDDEN SHOWING:

Class – 1 Tack and Turnout, Tilly Arlington.

Class - 2 Veteran Horse/Pony 15 years and Over, Morag Blackford.

Class – 3 Junior Rider 11 years and under, Libby White.

Class – 4 Senior Rider 12 years – 17 years, Shelby Cowell.

Class – 5 Fancy Dress Open, George Reed.

IN-HAND SHOWING:

Class – 6 Young handler 11 years and under, Steph Thorpe.

Class – 7 Senior handler 12years – 17years, Abbie Bennett.

Class – 8 Open any age, Lauren Hopwood.

Class – 9 Young stock 4 years and under, Lorraine Small.

Class –10 Best Gelding, Pip Read.

Class – 11 Best Mare, Katie Butters.

The next pony shows will be on June 22. August 24 and October 5. There will be a car boot with equestrian car boot on Saturday, July 20.
