THE SEARCH is on to find the Fenland Child of 2011.

Last year, George Harnwell, of Upwell, took the title and the £500 holiday voucher prize.

Now the search starts on April 5 to find this year’s winner. The Citizen has again teamed with photographers Premier Promotions and Co-operative Travel at Wisbech’s Westgate store to launch this popular promotion.

There are four qualifying round held throughout the year and the grand final at the end of 2011.

The first round is from April 5 to 9 at the Wisbech Westgate store in Church Terrace.

Round 2 will be from May 3 to 7 at the Westgate in Station Road, March, with Round 3 at Westgate Wisbech from October 4 to 8 and Round 4 at Westgate March from October 18 to 22.

Take your child along to the stores during these dates from 10am to 4pm Tuesday to Friday and 10am to 3pm on Saturdays. Entry is free and the age categories are: Best baby 0-18 months; best boy 18 months to five years; and best girl 18 months to five years.

The category winners - who will be selected by Citizen readers - will earn a place in the grand final and will each receive a 20x16 framed canvas texture portrait from Premier Promotions worth £180.

Photographs of children entered into the competition are taken free of charge and there is no obligation to buy.

Parents will be given a date by Premier Promotions to return to the store and select the photograph of their child they would like entered into the competition.

Premier Promotions will select the finalists for each category and the selected photographs.

At the end of the year, Citizen readers will be asked to vote for Fenland’s Child of 2011 from the 12 grand finalists who have won through from the four qualifying round.

Co-operative Travel has again generously agreed to provide the prize.
