The search is on to find a gala princess and attendant for this summer’s Lions Gala at March.

Both girls will be guests at the gala, held on Saturday June 8, as part of the annual March Summer Festival fun.

The winner and attendant will head Saturday’s parade and enjoy the day of gala activities at West End Park.

The gala gets underway at about noon and the lucky youngster to be crowned Gala Princess receives £50 from the Fenland Citizen and £25 for the attendant.

If you would like to enter, you must be aged between eight and 14 and live in March or the March area.

You can post your entry by sending a recent photograph with your name, age and address to the Fenland Citizen at 11 Union Street, Wisbech, Cambs, PE13 1DN. Please mark your entry March Gala Princess.

Or entries can be emailed to: news@fenlandcitizen.co.uk Pictures must be sent as separate jpeg attachments and the name, age and address details need to be included. Address details will not be published.

Please remember to include a contact number with all entries. The closing date for entries is Wednesday, May 15 at 5pm but don’t leave it to the last minute to enter.

Judges from the Lions will select the princess and attendant from the photographs submitted to the Citizen and the winners will be published in this newspaper.

Some of the entries may be published in the Citizen in the run up to the competition but it may not be possible to print photographs of all entries.

All entries will be forwarded to the judges for their consideration.

Last year’s princess was Daryann Marshall and Mihaela Pavel was the attendant.
