The moving story of the life of John Clare will be shared by author and storyteller Hugh Lupton at March Town Hall as part of a national celebration of storytelling.
The acclaimed storyteller and writer will be entertaining listeners with his tale ‘On Common Ground’ to mark National Storytelling Week.
The tale is based on Hugh’s latest book The Ballad Of John Clare which tells the story of the Helpston born peasant poet who, though he enjoyed the patronage of the rich and famous, still lived in extreme poverty.
‘On Common Ground: The Life and Times of John Clare’ takes place at March Town Hall from 7.30pm on Friday 31 January. Tickets are £7 (£5 concessions) in advance from Johnson’s Hardware, Dartford Road or £8 (£6) on the door.
