A sparkling nativity play celebrating Christmas across the world has been staged by infants at Wisbech Grammar School’s preparatory school. All the pupils aged four to seven at Magdalene House Preparatory School have been involved in mounting two performances of Children of the World, attracting an audience of nearly 200.
Songs and acts from Ireland and Poland have cast their seasonal spell side by side with offerings from more far flung continents, including China, Australia and the United States of America, and the cosmopolitan company has been led by an angel to behold the Christ child and present exotic gifts.
Director of music at Magdalene House Marie Cunningham said: “The play is a real mixture of old and new and a celebration from children around the world. All of our infant pupils have captured the spirit of Christmas through song and dance, and it really was a magical journey.”
