An appeal to help transform the life of an eight-year-old Wisbech girl has received a welcome boost from generous fundraisers.

The Earth’s Angels Spiritual Group has donated £145 towards a fund set up to buy an electric wheelchair for Sophie Clarke, who requires a frame to walk after being born with cerebral palsy and dysplasia.
An electric wheelchair would give Sophie greater independence but her parents Mandy Seaton and Barry Clarke were told the NHS is unlikely to fund one as she does not meet the criteria.
Last year they launched an £8,000 appeal to buy a wheelchair, and more than £3,200 has already been raised.
The Earth’s Angels Spiritual Group, based in Downham Market, raised the £145 for Sophie at a recent evening of clairvoyance.
Group member Brian Baylis knew Sophie and her family from when he was a volunteer for Riding for the Disabled Association.
“We wanted to help Sophie get the wheelchair, in order for her to enjoy life more,” he said.
