Norfolk County Council deployed two extra emergency response highways crews overnight to deal with problems caused by the stormy weather that arrived yesterday (Thursday) and lasted overnight.

The four crews (two on normal standby and two extra) dealt with 30 call-outs between 4pm yesterday and 8.30am today (Friday). Almost all were to fallen trees, with incidents reported across the whole county. There were no serious delays on major roads.

Norfolk County Council is responsible for the maintenance of around 6,000 miles of county roads and motorists are advised that there may still be branches and debris on parts of the network.
