A street drinker has been banned from Wisbech town centre after a string of anti-social incidents.

Dariusz Palinowski (51), of Sybil Road, Wisbech, was made subject of an Anti-social behaviour order (Asbo) at King’s Lynn Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

Dariusz Palinowski has been made the subject of an ASBO banning him from Wisbech town centre.

Dariusz Palinowski has been made the subject of an ASBO banning him from Wisbech town centre.

The court heard he had been found drunk in the town centre on numerous occasions during the past 12 months. He had been continually warned about his conduct by police officers and security guards but continued drinking in the town, which is a Designated Public Place Order – where drinking alcohol in the street is banned.

He was also known as a persistent shoplifter in the town.

The order bans him from: entering the town centre between 10am and 8pm; being drunk in a public place; possessing an open container of alcohol in a public place and entering Asda Wisbech or the supermarket’s car park.

Sergeant Dave Bax said: “Palinowski has been a menace in the town centre over the past 12 months, generally upsetting shoppers, staff and visitors with his behaviour.

“We are committed to making the town centre a more pleasant environment for people to live, work and visit and will continue to seek these kind of orders to ban these type of individuals.”

If Palinowski breaks the conditions of the Asbo he faces being arrested and put before the courts.
