A MARCH Brownie leader has received a prestigious guiding award in recognition of her dedicated service.
Susan Southwell, District Commissioner for Girlguiding March, was presented with a County Good Service Award by Sue Carpenter, County Commissioner at an Awards Evening.
The award, which is only given to a very small number of leaders per year, recognises Susan’s wide-ranging and outstanding dedication to guiding in the county for over 40 years.
Susan is leader of 4th March Brownies and has previously been the leader for a local Rainbows group. Susan always ensures that the girls in guiding are at the heart of everything she does.
Said Susan: “I was completely shocked to receive the award. I first joined guiding as a Brownie aged seven and it has given me so many exciting opportunities, including meeting Lady Baden-Powell, the World Chief Guide on two occasions.”
