The price of weddings is sky-rocketing and with the ever-increasing demands of work, newly-weds are seeking mini-escapes directly after their wedding, in order to delay the traditional and longer honeymoon until the best season hits their destination of choice.

Peak wedding season in the UK doesn’t necessarily mean it is peak season in many of the traditional honeymoon destinations.

For busy couples a mini-moon / maxi-moon idea works well for them.

They have the choice of a short break post wedding to perhaps destinations with a shortish flight time, such as Marrakech, Venice, Rome. Some may even choose Antigua, Dubai or New York.

This is easy to organise and, with the sheer exertion of organising the wedding, it can be done quickly.

The advantages are clear to see. One aspect is, of course, in the planning. Once back from your mini-moon with the memories and photographs of your special day you can then focus on planning your dream honeymoon at the perfect time for your chosen destination.

For couples looking for a romantic UK break, you will find that UK hotels are tapping in on the trend by creating stand-alone rooms with extra privacy for mini-mooners. These can range from the Cotswolds to Scotland, with a range of budgets to suit everyone. Should you wish to celebrate your wedding abroad or you are looking at a mini or maxi-moon, let your local independent travel agent help you with all of the planning and the booking arrangements.
