A MURROW pensioner has thanked a mysterious woman who brought her a bunch of flowers as a random act of kindness.
The elderly woman, who does not want to be named, was shopping in the Wisbech Asda store, late on Saturday afternoon.
She said: “I finished my shopping and was looking at the cut flowers. I decided not to buy any and as I was walking away, a young lady who had been standing near me came up with a gorgeous bunch of flowers.
“She said, these are for you, here’s the receipt. I was totally shocked. When I asked why, she said because you remind me of my nan.
“In these times, when countries, neighbours, families are at war, it was lovely. I was almost in tears.”
The pensioner, who is over 90 years old, said she had never seen the young woman before and added: “Nothing like this has ever happened to me before and I’m very old.”
