A SERIES of information events are being held about Wisbech’s new Academy status for the Thomas Clarkson Community College.
The College is in the process of converting to Academy status and parents, students and community members are invited to attend events hosted by the Academy’s sponsor - the Brooke Weston Partnership, who will run the Academy with its governing body.
The first event is on Thursday (January 12) at Fenland District Council’s One Stop Shop at 2-3 Bridge Street from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
Members of the Partnership’s executive team will be on hand to provide information about all aspects of the new Academy, from its curriculum to catering service, uniform and admissions policy.
There will also be two public drop-in sessions in the new Thomas Clarkson Community College building on Thursday January 26 and Tuesday January 31 from 4pm to 7pm on both days.
The drop-in sessions will take place in the school’s impressive Eden Space 4 in the school building.
Executive Principal of the Brooke Weston Partnership, Sir Peter Simpson said: “As the government’s choice of sponsor we have been working hard over the past few months to prepare for Thomas Clarkson Community College’s conversion to an Academy.
“We are holding these events so that people can find out more about what the new Academy will mean for secondary education in Wisbech and also to find out more about ourselves.
“Our pledge is to provide a high quality education for every student and we are looking forward to beginning our work.”
People who attend the events will be able to take away a brochure about plans for the Academy. They will also have the opportunity to give their views and fill in a questionnaire as part of the current consultation process.
Anyone who is unable to make the events but would like more information can access the booklet on the Brooke Weston Trust’s website at www.brookewestonpartnership.org
