SATURDAY’S sunny weather was a welcome start for the first ever Norfolk run organised by Fenland kit car owners.

David Fiske from Wisbech and fellow Tiger car owner Alan ‘Griff’ Griffin came up with the idea of a Norfolk run.

The pair worked out a route for members of the East Anglia Tiger Owners Club and their vehicles starting at the car factory in Anglia Way, Wisbech.

A total of 18 members took part in the 137 mile rally taking in, among numerous other places, Swaffham, Fakenham, Bodham, Sedgeford and Dersingham before finishing up at the Queen’s estate at Sandringham.

David was delighted with the response to the event and said members from as far afield as Milton Keynes, Diss and Corby were among those to take part.

He explained they had chosen to start from the Tiger Sportscars factory to highlight the fact it has relocated to Wisbech from Thorney Toll and to say thank-you for the support given to the club by the family-run firm.

“We were really lucky with the weather, Saturday was perfect and we had a really good day out. It was just for fun, one of the numerous events the club organises throughout the year, and we are hoping to hold it again next year,” added David, who has owned his CAT E1 model for the past couple of years.
