Fenland will be bouncing into the festive spirit over the next few weeks.
St Clement’s Church in Outwell will be hosting a beautiful collection of Tiggers which will be on sale during its Christmas Fair on Friday.
Christmas Teddy Bears and wooden reindeer will be among the other items on sale during the fundraiser.
Father Christmas is scheduled to make an early visit to Outwell to hear youngsters’ present wish-lists at first hand.
With old favourites like a cake sale, tombola, face-painting, craft stall, guessing the weight of the cake and other tests of skill, the fair promises to be a great afternoon for all ages.
The fair has been organised by the Friends of St Clements and will help raise money needed to match a Heritage Lottery Fund grant for repairs to the historic building.
All the fun will start from 3pm on Friday.
Another historic Fenland building is appealing for unwanted Christmas trees to plant Santa’s Forest.
Directors and friends of Wisbech Institute are asking for help in creating a magical grotto for Santa.
The institute is also looking for elves and toymakers.
Father Christmas will be at the Institute in Hill Street every Saturday in December and on the Sunday and Monday before the big day.
Last year’s Grotto was a huge hit with all who visited. The delight on the faces of the children was wonderful and the pleasure of parents and grandparents was something to behold.
If you can help the Institute contact John Smith on 07776 322 129.
Collection is possible for the Christmas trees.
