The Tydd Players are launching a “cheeky” calendar to raise money for two charities.
The Players – an amateur dramatics group whose members all live in Tydd St Giles – held an inaugural event in July based on the Full Monty, and raised over £300 for charity in half an hour.
Now they have produced a 2015 calendar featuring unfamiliar dress code in familiar village surroundings.
They hope the calendar will raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support and the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
Printing costs have been covered by generous sponsors, who are all local businesses, so all of the proceeds from calendar sales will go directly to charity.
They already have advance orders for a large number and hope to sell at least 500 for a minimum donation of £5.50.
The Players’ ultimate aim is for the calendar to raise more than £3,000.
They will be available at the Crown & Mitre pub, Blades Barbers, Tydd Golf & Country Club, Lakers Gym and other local outlets. They can be ordered directly by email and posted for an additional £2.
A secure HSBC Community bank account has been established to receive donations. Further charitable fundraising events are being planned by the group.
