HISTORIC vehicles of all ages, shapes and sizes were in Wisbech on Sunday when Wisbech and District Historic Vehicle Club held its 20th annual road run.
This year saw a record number of 213 entries take to the road. As usual, the route started at Somers Road car park before heading to Perkins Engines at Peterborough via Tydd St Mary, Holbeach, Whaplode, Spalding and Market Deeping.
The journey back took in Whittlesey, Chainbridge, March and Wisbech St Mary before returning to Somers Road for a static display.
Visitors had the chance to admire an array of vehicles, motorbikes and scooters. Prizes were awarded at the end for the best commercial, classic car, motorbike, post-classic car, post motorcycle, scooter and best Morris Minor. These were presented by Robin Hotson, representing Elgood’s Brewery, who sponsor the road run.
Road run co-ordinator Mick Ramsden was very pleased with the way the event went.
Money raised from the road run goes to a number of local worthy causes and a raffle is held to raise money for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
