Crowds gathered in Lynn’s waterside today (Saturday, August 22) to watch boats and water skiiers soar up the River Great Ouse.
The first Hanseatic Ski Race to take place in Lynn proved to be a big success with hundreds of people turning out to support the water skiers.
Competitors came from across Europe to compete in Forumla 1, 2 and 3 races.
Families gathered on Lynn’s South Quay and on the West Lynn side to watch the breath-taking skill of the skiers to remain upright despite the boats reaching speeds of up to 100 milies an hour.
The event has been organised by Hunstanton Ski Club with support from West Norfolk Council.
The action returns to the river tomorrow from 11am to 2pm.
Plus Lynn will be hosting a Fairy Tales and Legends event with dragon taming workshops, story telling and more more.
