Village pharmacy opens

TERRINGTON St John has a new pharmacy just months after the old one was forced to close.

Dr Ardeshir Danesh has opened the Willows Pharmacy in a mobile building adjoining the new doctor’s surgery - currently housed in the Scout Hut in Old Church Road.

Dr Danesh already owns and runs a pharmacy at Downham Market having previously worked for a multiple pharmacy company responsible for 14 branches across East Anglia.

But he liked a more personal input to his work, which is was unable to enjoy working for such a large firm, which is why he decided to strike out on his own and opened the Downham Market pharmacy six years ago.

He has been in discussions with the primary care trust since early last year about opening a pharmacy in Terrington St John and was finally given the go ahead in December and has since recruited four members of staff to help run the business.

Dr Danesh has also bought the cottage at 2 Old Church Road - his mobile building currently stands in the garden of the property - and is seeking permission to convert it to a permanent pharmacy.

He is hoping to get permission shortly and said it would take only a short time to renovate it and make it ready to open as a pharmacy.

The Willows is open between 8am and 6.30pm Monday-Friday and 9am-12pm on Saturdays and can be contacted on 01945-882280.
