Volunteers are needed to help shape the future of a March park.
Fenland District Council is looking to find community representatives to have a say on West End Park.
The volunteers would be able to have a say on how the park is managed, along with helping to plan any new equipment or amenities.
They could also act as the community’s “eyes and ears” in reporting any problems there.
A previous Friends of West End Park group succeeded in helping to raise funding for the outdoor gym equipment.
It also provided valuable support for the creation of the park’s skate bowl and the improvements to lighting, pathways and CCTV. Cllr Peter Murphy, cabinet member responsible for parks and open spaces, said: “Our parks are amongst our greatest assets and we are constantly looking for ways to make them even better by ensuring that they have the right sort of facilities – ones that local people really want.
“The previous Friends did a great job in West End and now we’re looking to re-establish a similar group that can be the voice of the local community, giving us their general advice and support, as well as helping us to gain extra funding.”
Volunteers would have a lot of flexibility in deciding how much time they could devote to the group.
