We are still looking for entries in this year’s annual March Gardens competition.
Even though the weather has not been brilliant this year, we are certain there are still some prize-winning gardens out there and we want to see them.
The Citizen, in conjunction with March Town Council’s In Bloom group, has a host of top prizes that have been donated by generous local businesses and there are plenty of categories for you to enter.
The categories are: Large Gardens, for those of 200sq metres and over; Small Gardens, for below 200sq metres; Pensioner’s Garden; Business; Champion of Champions, for previous category winners. There is also a prize for the Best Overall Garden, which is chosen from all the category winners.
This year’s competition sponsors are Johnsons Ironmongers, West End DIY, Selby and Taylor Opticians, Skylark Country Store and Garden Centre and March Town Council.
If you would like to enter your garden, send a good-quality photograph to the Citizen, marked MARCH GARDEN COMPETITION, and state which category you are entering. You must also include your name, address and a daytime telephone number.
Post your entry to the Citizen at 11 Union Street, Wisbech, Cambs, PE13 1DN. You can also email your entry to firstname.lastname@example.org but please make sure your picture is in jpeg format.
The closing date is June 19, so don’t delay. The judges will be visiting gardens on July 14 and the presentation evening is July 31 at March Town Council.
