Thursday, May 28

• Every Thursday, Upwell Playing field, car boot, sellers 8am, buyers 9am, £5 per pitch, refreshments on site, no dogs, disabled parking with blue badge on field.

• Bingo, Parson Drove Village Hall, proceeds to the Christmas Party. Eyes down 7.30pm.

• Meeting of the Fenland Family History Society, St Peter’s Church Hall, Wisbech. Doors open at 7pm.

The guest speaker this month will be Anne Barnes, who will be telling us to ‘Keep it Clean’ with tales of loos and bathrooms through the ages.

The usual information stands will be available. Visitors welcome, £2.

• Friends of March Library coffee morning, with refreshments and prize raffle, Wordsworth Room at March Library, 10am–noon.

• Open church tower day, St Wendreda’s Church, March, 11am to 4pm. Raising money for the upkeep of the 14th century church.

Sunday, May 31

• Elme Hall Hotel, Wisbech, The Offshore Rivers, blues and soul. Doors 3.30pm, families are welcome with free admission for accompanied under 14s, adults £3; free admission for hotel residents and Sunday lunch diners.

• National Gardens Scheme, Kenilworth Smallholding, West Drove North, Walton Highway, 11am to 5pm, entry £4 and children are free.

Monday, June 1

• Bingo at St Augustine’s Parish Centre hall, Wisbech; doors open 6.30pm for refreshments, games start 7.30pm.

Sunday, June 7

• Clic Sargent charity day, Fenland Aero Club, Fenland Airfield, Holbeach St Johns.

Monday, June 8

• 7.30pm, Chatteris Working Men’s Club, Chatteris Royal British Legion welcome Gordon Lane, from The Gurkha Welfare Trust, to give a talk on Gurkhas and the work of the welfare trust. Free entry – everyone welcome. Donations to the Gurkha Welfare Trust - Earthquake Response Fund would be welcome, in view of recent events in Nepal.

Wednesday, June 10

• Coffee morning with stalls, St Wendreda’s Church Hall, 10am to noon.

Saturday, June 13

• Events day with treasure hunt / navigation exercise by air, spot landings and timed circuits, from 10am, Fenland Aero Club, Fenland Airfield, Holbeach St Johns.

Wednesday, June 17
