SANTA SOS was the theme for an inspired Christmas cake made by the head chef at Hickathrift House residential care home.
The Marshland St James home, which is part of the Barchester Group, entered the group-wide competition to design a festive cake and now has to wait until just before Christmas to find out if it’s a winner.
The cake was designed by Nigel and residents helped to decorate it. It is a traditional fruit cake made to look like a festive cottage. It took three hours to bake and has a roof made out of gingerbread with Santa stuck in the chimney.
The cake is set to go to a new home as Nigel explained it is one of the prizes in a Christmas Fair at the home.
The person who correctly guesses the weight wins the cake.
