Wimblington Film Club’s November subject is ‘Belle’, starring Tom Wilkinson and Emily Watson, which tells the true story of Dido Elizabeth Belle, the illegitimate mixed race daughter of a Royal Navy Admiral.
Raised by her great uncle Lord Mansfield and his wife, there was no one else quite like her in British high society but the colour of her skin dictated her social standing.
The screening takes place at Wimblington Parish Hall, Addison Road, next Tuesday, November 25, and doors open at 1.30pm. Price £2.50, with refreshments available.
The club’s film for January 27, will be ‘Before I Go To Sleep’ starring Nicole Kidman and Colin Firth.
