Creative youngsters are being asked to design their dream shop for the chance to win prizes in a new competition.
Wisbech Art Space launched the Dream Shop competition on Monday and is inviting local children to take part, and have their designs go on display. To enter the competition, under 17s simply have to complete a template of a shop front with their design for a dream shop. The judges will then pick one winner from each of the three age categories (6 and under, 7 to 11 and 12 to 16). The winners will each receive a family meal voucher for the new Burger King in the Horsefair Shopping Centre, as well as a family ticket to the Luxe cinema. Lorena Hodgson, curator of the Art Space with Kevin Smith, said: “We wanted to promote the town centre as a place for a family night-out whilst also giving the young people of Wisbech a chance to see their work displayed like the adult artists we have exhibited. Good luck to all our entrants.” Blank shop templates are available from www.wisbechartspace.com or the kiosk at the bus station. Once complete, it can be posted through the Horsefair centre manager’s office door, next to Wisbech Art Space opposite the entrance to the Co-op. All entries received will go on display in the windows of the Wisbech Art Space until they are judged on Saturday, September 6. For more information visit the above website or contact 01945 584109.
