KING’S Lynn is set for another magical Christmas this year when King’s Lynn Corn Exchange stages Cinderella.
The timeless tale of fairy tale romance will be the venue’s second pantomime, and following last year’s Jack and the Beanstalk, which starred John (Nasty Nick) Altman, the Corn Exchange again welcomes an Albert Square favourite in the form of Letitia Dean as Fairy Godmother.
Letitia trained at London’s Sylvia Young Theatre School and has had a successful stage career with roles in Joe Orton’s Loot, High School Musical and most recently, in a national tour of Calendar Girls.
It is of course, her role in EastEnders that endeared her to millions. As feisty Sharon Watts, a part she predominantly played from 1985 to 1995, she got her teeth into many meaty storylines opposite Phil and Grant Mitchell. This year she will be faced with another dastardly duo in the form of Ugly Sisters, Ian Marr and Richard Pocock.
Marr dons the gown again following last year’s performance as Dame. The West End’s Claire Fishenden takes on the title role, and there’s also a welcome return for last year’s Simple Simon, Scott Cripps, who will play Buttons.
Cinderella runs at the King’s Lynn Corn Exchange until Tuesday, January 3.
