POLICE are warning motorists to be cautious after strong winds brought down more than 20 trees in Cambridgeshire overnight.
A police spokesperson said: “We are working with the Highways Agency and local authorities to ensure trees and debris are removed from roads as quickly as possible.
“We would urge motorists to remain alert to the conditions of the roads and report any problems to police.”
In the Fens the incidents included: 6.22am tree fallen on Pidley Road, Somersham. Removed with the assistance of a member of the public by 6.44am; 7.18am tree blocking Ramsey Road, Ramsey Forty Foot. Highways on their way; 7.53am tree blocking Hannath Road, Tydd Gote. Incident ongoing.
