NEW multi-millionnaires Dave and Angela Dawes, of Wisbech, have pledged to help between 15 to 20 family members and friends become millionnaires after their massive EuroMillions Lottery win on Friday.

They also want to help charities, including children’s charities.

Dave (47) and Angela (43) will be swapping their Wisbech one-bedroomed flat for something much grander in Chelsea as Dave is a big Chelsea FC fan. He told a press conference minutes ago that he plans to have a room inside the house dedicated to Chelsea.

Dave said he has “officially retired” from his shift supervisor job at Premiers Foods after phoning in sick on Sunday when the couple were trying to come to terms with the third biggest ever win.

Angela left her volunteer job at Wisbech’s British Heart Foundation shop last week. Both have said they won’t be going back.

The couple, who have been together for four years, had planned to get married next year in Portugal but now the ceremony will be a bit grander.

Angela is also looking forward to swapping her £800 ring from the town’s H Samuels for a more expensive diamond ring.

The couple told the media of the euphoria and disbelief as they watched the Lottery draw, checking their ticket at the same time, and realised they had won.

This is only the third time the couple have played and it is third time lucky. The first two times they had no numbers.

Dave said they won’t be playing again. He said he would feel “crude” if he won again.

The couple chose a line each and it was one of Dave’s lines that won. Dave kept the winning ticket in his jeans and kept his jeans on. He said they didn’t sleep and locked all the windows and doors.

The lines were closed and they weren’t able to register their claim straight away. It wasn’t until Monday morning the claim was finally verified.

He said Angela was in “meltdown” by the time the final number was drawn.

The winning ticket came from Wisbech’s WH Smith’s store.

The couple explained they decided to go public with their win so that they could get on with their lives and enjoy their win. They also want the people they plan to help to be able to enjoy their money as well.

Angela said even now the win “doesn’t feel real”.
