Budding young actors have enjoyed performing a classic musical.
The Angles Theatre in Wisbech will be staging Les Miserables at Easter. Staff at the theatre organised three audition workshops, which was attended between 20 and 30 youngsters. They were taught the melodies of some of the songs from this classic musical and how to deliver them with passion and varying emotions. Director Emlyn Moment and Robert Williams, musical director, were delighted with the event’s success. The theatre is sadly short of potential performers for the two main roles of Valjean, a strong tenor and Javert, an equally strong baritone.
There are also a few minor male roles in the chain gang, ABC students and Thenardier’s gang, where boys with a reasonable singing ability would be very welcome. If anyone is interested contact the theatre on 01945 474447.
