The fourth Elgood’s beer festival opened its doors for three nights of award-winning beer tasting, food and music at the North Brink, Wisbech, brewery.
There were around 150 different beers, mainly from the eastern region, including the brewery’s own award-winning Plum Porter. MP Steve Barclay joined the brewery’s Clair Simpson, Belinda Sutton, Nigel Elgood and head brewer Alan Pateman to officially open the festival, which also included folk, Irish and rock bands on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. The festival is held in conjunction with the Society of Independent Brewers and included the launch of an innovative new type of reusable pint glass. Thursday featured music from Dr Busker, Friday the band Silvester Peat Cutter and the Twlight Boggers (a three-piece Irish music band) and Saturday B’Wildered.
