Construction students at the College of West Anglia’s Isle Campus are being given a valuable look into life on a construction site.
The students are experiencing a series of guided tours of the current construction site, which will soon be the new teaching block, plus the refurbishment work to existing buildings.
The tours are being given by representatives from R G Carter to give construction students a greater understanding of modern techniques and the realities of working on site.
The tours were led by site manager Paul Davis. He said: “The tours are only a small part of R G Carter’s work with the college and its students and we hope to build on this relationship in the future.” Programme manager for technology at CWA’s Isle campus, Alan Seeley, said: “The opportunity for our students given by R G Carter cannot be replicated by tutors in the workshops. The tours are not only informative, but also inspire the next generation of construction workers.”
