A Wisbech daredevil cashed in on crunchy critters by eating bugs for charity.
Dan Dare, aka Dan Smith, tucked into a meal of worms, crickets, locusts and giant beetles during a fundraiser in aid of Wisbech’s Salvation Army.
Spectators grimaced as the charity’s volunteer chomped into the bugs at the Salvation Army Hall, and helped him to raise around £200. There was also a coffee morning with cakes, games and a plant stall provided by Jasmine Nurseries, which raised a further £100. The money will go towards the charity’s youth work.
It is the second time Dan has carried out a dare to raise funds for the cause, with his first being a hot curry challenge last year.
