Misconceptions of electric cars were challenged during a workshop and test drive organised by a Wisbech Nissan dealership.

J S Holmes organised a session in the Boathouse in Wisbech on Monday last week when visitors were invited to test drive the Leaf.

A total of 35 people went along to the event, which included a talk by Leaf specialist Russell Higgins.

One visitor was so impressed that an order was placed for a car after the test drive.
Sales director Alex Holmes was delighted with the day’s success.
He said: “Things went very well and the response was positive.
“The people who attended were interested in the technology and impressed with the test drive.
“While we accept that electric vehicles are not suitable for 100 per cent of the population, they are for 99 per cent for 99 per cent of the time.”
The Leaf has a maximum range of 80 to 100 miles.
