Wisbech Festival proved to be a big hit with families over the weekend .
The town’s Market Place came alive with live music, fairground rides and a bird of prey display on Sunday.
Organisers, Wisbech Town Council, estimate that 1,000 people enjoyed the event.
Cllr Sam Hoy said: “It was a wonderful day and we had lots of people there. A number of shops were also open and I hope they did well.
“We wanted to put something on for families and it worked really well.”
Headline act Rattleshack rocked the town centre. Performances were also given by Undercovered, Zeperi, Amy, Eros, Catch 22 and Dimitri.
Teenagers gave a display of Parkour and the annual Wisbech Karaoke Competition was held.
Fairground rides, face painting, balloon modelling and a clown kept youngsters entertained, while adults were able to browse the range of stalls.
But a big draw was the owl display. Cllr Hoy said: “It was a last-minute booking but the children really liked it. They were able to hold the owl and have their picture taken.”
Scores of people gave up their Sunday to help out at the event.
Cllr Hoy said: “I would like to thank everyone who helped. They were there from 7am to 7pm.”
