Wisbech in Bloom are inviting all keen gardeners in and around the town to enter the annual garden competitions, part of Wisbech in Bloom’s entry into the prestigious Anglia in Bloom competition.
Wisbech has scooped six consecutive Gold awards in Anglia in Bloom and is a also a Britain in Bloom finalist in 2014.
There are a variety of categories to suit every gardener and the organisers are hoping for a bumper number of entries.
The categories are as follows; Large in Town Garden, sponsored by Tesco; Small in Town Garden, sponsored by Tesco; Large Out-of-Town Garden, sponsored by Clifford Cross Auctions Ltd; Small Out-of-Town Garden, sponsored by Clifford Cross Auctions Ltd; Wildlife/Cottage Garden, sponsored by Fenland Branch of the Royal Society of St George; Container Garden, sponsored by Doreen Eden; Hanging basket, sponsored by Wisbech in Bloom.
Large gardens are 200 sqm plus and small gardens are less than 200 sqm. Out of Town gardens must be within 6 mile radius of Wisbech Town centre.
Entries are also invited for the ‘Brightening up a drab corner’ competition sponsored by Octavia Hill Birthplace Trust. This catagory relates to community and public gardens.
Entries can be posted or delivered to Wisbech Information Centre, 4 Post Office Lane, Wisbech PE13 1HG or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org
Entries must arrive by 5pm on Friday, July 4.
Photographs are optional as all entries will be judged. Please remember to include name, address and telephone number and clearly state which category the garden is to be entered into.
Judging will take place week commencing July 8 and results will be announced at the awards evening in September.
