A Wisbech man will be raising hundreds of pounds for charity by taking part in a European rally in a classic Land Rover.
Martyn Wadsley, 58, is taking part in the 25th anniversary Italian Job rally.
He and his co-pilot Andy Stimpson will be taking their 1969 Land Rover to Trento and Turin on a driving adventure, which is inspired by the classic Michael Caine film.
Their tour will take in Formula 1 tracks such as Spa and Monza along with the legendary Nuremburg ring.
The rally, which starts on Monday, October 20, is raising money for the Variety Club.
So far Mr Wadsley has raised £600 for the charity and hopes to receive a further £500.
Mr Wadsley, who is sales manager for RJ Land Rover, said: “I have never been so excited.”
Mr Wadsley, who has shed nearly 10 stone, bought the Land Rover from a collection owned by Geoff Giles, whose passions include The Italian Job and Land Rover.
Shortly after finishing the rally, Mr Wadsley will be jetting off to New York to watch Bruce Springsteen. He has travelled the world watching gigs performed by the superstar.
