WITH the celebrations of the Golden Jubilee having ebbed away, I would like to say ‘thank you’ to all those involved in the conception, planning and those taking part in the first Wisbech Arts Festival.
During the two weeks in the run up to the Jubilee weekend there were exhibitions, talks, workshops, plays, poetry, photography, film, song, dance stories and demonstrations. It culminated in a fundraising day for Centenary Green, next to the Octavia Hill birthplace Museum.
This fortnight was a fantastic celebration of the unique cultural resources within our Fenland town and demonstrates how much talent is within Wisbech.
Well done I look forward to the second Wisbech Arts Festival which, I’m sure, will be bigger and better than this year.
