I MUST say I am saddened by the continued vilification of one of the most pro March people that perhaps the town has ever known.
Bernard Keane is an absolute dynamo and has been for all of the 20 or so years I have known and respected him.
Why he has not been honoured with at least an MBE is beyond me. But I suppose ‘twas ever thus’.
Those who rise to the occasion when the trumpet sounds are often also those who are the target of criticism by people who benefit from their work in the community.
I hope Mr Keane will ignore the snipers and carry on making his outstanding contribution to the common good.
