THE government has a system whereby if a public petition gains 100,000 signatures, the subject will be awarded Parliamentary time for a political debate.
Pat’s Petition asks for consideration to stop and review the cuts to benefits and services which are falling disproportionately on disabled people, their carers and families as can be viewed online and via You Tube at: http://carerwatch.com/reform/?p=1073, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6-iTZR8CoI
It is undoubtedly the most important of all petitions, given the levels of human suffering and the growing numbers of deaths as a direct result of the government’s ill-thought out proposals that failed to consider an impact assessment.
The government’s own figures have confirmed that, between January- August 2011, a total of 100,000 people died after suddenly having their disability benefits removed using the Atos Healthcare assessment and unqualified DWP Decision Makers, who are incapable of deciphering medical reports from consultants and other healthcare professionals.
Panorama exposed the nightmare in a recent documentary, but nothing has changed and the most vulnerable people in the UK now live in fear of their own government.
To stop more needless deaths, please sign this vital petition: http://epetitions.direct.gov
