AFTER reading the letter from Gary Davis (Citizen June 20) a response is needed.
He is obviously not familiar with the massive worldwide success of Pink Floyd and that their album, Dark Side of the Moon, is one of the best selling albums of all time. It was in the charts from 1973 to 1988 and has sold well over 50 million copies!
If Mr Davis had stayed longer he may have been able to appreciate the musicians talent. I am not a particular fan of brass bands but I watched on Sunday evening because I appreciate music and the RAF bands talent is on a level with Think Floyd. Mr Davis also suggests youngsters did not enjoy it. I beg to differ. I was among people far younger than me who were having a fantastic time.
I applaud the committee for their choice and maybe if people who are bothered about the wrong choices, they should offer their help on the committee as I am sure all hands are welcome.
